We recognise that although participation in a professional growth cycle is a requirement, it is a learning focused process and can be designed by Principals to work for them in their setting.

 

Our approach provides options that are: personalised, responsive to needs and focused on improving rather than proving performance. We promote and support networked leadership and place a strong emphasis on coaching.

1-Navigate Your Own Journey

1-COMPONENT-DESIGN YOUR PROFESSIONAL GROWTH CYCLE

The Principal identifies an endorser who holds a Tūturu/ Full (Category One) Practicing Certificate to endorse practice in relation to the standards. This is one professional colleague. 

OPTIONS

  1. The Principal plans & designs their own PGC, writes their own goal(s) & shares it with a consultant via Google docs for feedback -$150 + GST

  2. The Principal plans & designs their own PGC & writes their own goal(s) with the support of a 1.5 hour coaching session with a consultant. Virtual or face to face.

$300 + GST face to face

$240 +GST virtual

2-COMPONENT-CHECK-IN-Optional

OPTIONS

  1. Face to face mid-point coaching session based on the Principal's reflections against their PGC & goal(s) expected outcomes. Support for the Principal in preparing to share their own progress with the board presiding member. 2 hours-$500 + GST

  2. Virtual mid-point coaching session based on the Principal's reflections against their goal(s) expected outcomes. Support for the Principal in preparing to share their own progress with the board presiding member. 1.5 hours-$300+ GST

  3. Face to face mid-point check-in with a consultant. Consultant produces a summary interim report. 2-3 hours-$900 + GST

  4. Virtual mid-point review with a consultant. Consultant produces a summary interim report. 2-2.5 hours-$700 + GST

3-COMPONENT -COACHING-Highly recommended

OPTIONS

1.5 hour coaching sessions in relation to the Principal's PGC process &  goals e.g. end of term 1, term 2, term 3.

$160 +GST per virtual session

$225 + GST per face to face session

1 in term 1

4-COMPONENT-PERSPECTIVE TAKING-Seek feedback

OPTIONS

  1. A co-constructed digital survey that is tailored to gather feedback in relation to the Principal's goals. Scope to be decided.-$450 + GST

  2. Professional Standards digital survey & tailored questions to gather feedback in relation to the Principal's goals-$300 + GST

  3. A consultant will facilitate face to face, 1-1 or small group feedback interviews with students, staff, board &/or community in relation to the Principal's goals or PGC focus. Questions co-constructed.-$450 based on 6 individual interviews. Actual cost based on individual requirements.

  4. Support from a consultant to develop a plan for engaging in opportunities to seek feedback. The Principal gathers their own-$225 +GST

  5. Full 360 digital survey; staff, board, self. This survey is our edLead standard Professional Standards, communication & personal accountability & values survey-$225 + GST

5-COMPONENT-GROWTH CYCLE SUMMARY-Optional

OPTIONS

  1. Principal meets face to face with a consultant & board presiding member. The consultant completes the PGC summary report. The Principal identifies an endorser who holds a Tūturu|Full (Category One) Practicing Certificate to endorse the report. 2-3 hours on-site-$1050 + GST

  2. Virtual meeting. The consultant completes the appraisal summary report. The Principal identifies an endorser who holds a Tūturu|Full (Category One) Practicing Certificate to endorse the report. 2-2.5 hours-$900 + GST

2-1 to 1 Coaching or Professional Supervision

Individualised one to one coaching is the best form of personalised PLD.

At edLead we approach coaching as a tool for enhancing performance and positive self-development. Coaching is tailored to what you need, it's timely and it assumes you are already capable.

 

Coaching results in increased confidence and greater capability to meet the demands of modern leadership. As a result of coaching you will feel supported.

 

Your coaching experience will include –

  • PGC focused one to one sessions to move you forward

  • Your agenda driving sessions

  • Each session resulting in agreed actions to be taken

 

$160 +GST per hour virtual session

$225 + GST per hour  face to face session

3-Peer Professional Growth Cycle

The concept of a peer professional growth cycle is based on 2 leaders; who share a respectful, high trust relationship, working together to support each other to engage in a robust professional growth cycle, achieve their goals and develop professionally.

Both Principals commit to the 12-month process.

This opportunity is available to current or recent edLead clients.

 

edLead Consulting can provide the process, documentation, structure and coaching support to ensure the peer appraisal is rigorous and fulfils requirements, professional standards and career step criteria.

 

Leaders engage in each other's professional growth cycle within the framework outlined below.

 

 The process will involve:

  • Professional growth cycle design and goal setting

  • 2 coaching sessions

  • A mid-point check-in and regroup session

  • A PGC summary and endorsement

 

edLead Consulting will provide:

  • 1.5 hours of online or face to face support, working with both Principals together to plan the professional growth cycles and set goals - term 1

  • 1.5 hours of coaching working with both Principals together - early term 2

  • 1.5 hours of online or face to face support, working with both Principals together to check-in, review & regroup at the mid-point-end of term 2

  • 1.5 hours of coaching working with both Principals together - end term 3

  • 2 hours of virtual support working with both Principals together to undertake the PGC summary and endorsement.

  • An agreement to be signed between the boards of both schools

  • A documented summary of the process

  • All documentation as required; for example, PGC templates, mid-point review frameworks, perspective taking examples etc made available for personalisation. 

 

Cost $1000 + GST per Principal virtually

Cost for face to face or blended facilitation to be negotiated based on individual circumstances

4-Networked Professional Growth Cycle

The transition from appraisal to professional growth cycles encourages leaders to learn, share new knowledge and grow practice through collaborations with peers. These networks may already exist or could be created specifically for the PGC in the interest of improved professional practices and enhanced outcomes for learners.

 

At edLead we can support these networks directly or indirectly. We can keep you on track and remove the additional workload of planning and preparing; a network with no fuss!

This could be; but is not limited to, taking care of pre-session communication, PGC process frameworks, goal setting guidelines, organising school visits, gathering feedback examples, providing a structure for each of your hui, providing professional material to reflect on, reflection frameworks and group coaching tools and tips.

 

Your network could navigate your own journey; designing the options that are going to be most useful for you or you can select from one of the pre-planned journeys below:

 

Option 1

An edLead consultant provides remote support - the group takes turns to self-facilitate 4 x 2 hours sessions

Maximum number: 6

 

  • Principals and boards are provided with an agreement framework.

 

  • Term 1 session one: The network is provided with a trust building and protocol setting activity and a template to support the design of their professional growth cycle and the establishing of goal(s)/inquiries.

This could be a collaborative goal or an individual goal(s).

 

Following this, each Principal could opt to receive feedback and some remote coaching from the consultant. See our 1-1 coaching options.

 

  • Terms 2-3 once per term: The network is provided with a communication reminder and a session overview which includes;

  • a reflection/journaling framework to complete prior to the session,

  • a check-in tool,

  • group/peer coaching structure to support the sharing and reflection in relation to goals and inquiries,

  • some professional learning material; reading/clip/podcast and/or provocation and reflective questions or a tool.

 

The network could choose to move around each other's schools and showcase, gain feedback or test an idea in relation to their growth focus.

 

  • Term 4 one session: The network is provided with a structure and framework to celebrate their progress and outcomes and completes their annual endorsement.

Cost:

$350 per person for 6 participants for 4 sessions

$500 per person for 4 participants for 4 sessions

 

 

Option 2

A blended approach - an edLead consultant provides remote support and facilitates some of the 2 hour network sessions.

 

Maximum number: 6

 

  • Principals and boards are provided with an agreement framework.

 

  • Term 1 session one: The network is supported to establish trust and to develop their own protocol agreement. The consultant will facilitate group coaching and provide a template option that will support the design of the professional growth cycle and the establishing of goal(s)/inquiries.

This could be a collaborative goal or an individual goal(s).

 

Following this, each Principal could opt to receive feedback and some remote coaching from the consultant. See our 1-1 coaching options.

 

  • Terms 2-3 once per term: The network is provided with a session overview which includes;

  • a reflection/journaling framework to complete prior to the session,

  • a check-in tool,

  • group/peer coaching structure to support the sharing and reflection in relation to goals and inquiries,

  • some professional learning material; reading/clip/podcast and/or provocation and reflective questions or a tool.

 

The network could choose to move around each other's schools and showcase, gain feedback or test an idea in relation to their growth focus.

 

  • Early term 3: The consultant facilitates a mid point review, regroup and coaching taster.

 

  • Term 4 session 5: The consultant facilitates a session and will support the network to celebrate their progress and outcomes and complete their annual endorsement.

 

Cost:

$500 per person for 6 participants for 5 sessions

$750 per person for 4 participants for 5 sessions

Option 3

An edLead consultant attends and facilitates the 4 x 2 hour network sessions.

Maximum number: 6

 

The consultant organises and facilitates 4 PGC network sessions; one per term as per option 1.

Cost:

$500 per person for 6 participants for 4 sessions

$750 per person for 4 participants for 4 sessions
