PROFESSIONAL LEARNING GROUP
Learning is a social activity. Reflecting on practice & discussing actions & reflections are key elements in adult learning & development.
In education, every school leader works in a unique context, tailoring their leadership to the specific needs before them. At the same time all leaders exercise leadership in areas common across all schools.
The Professional Learning Group (PLG) outlines an approach to AP and DP development that:
Recognises individual contexts
Provides opportunity for APs and DPs from different schools to come together
Is challenging & robust
The Professional Learning Group involves 6 APs and DPs.
The group will meet four times over the year (1 x 3 hour session each term).
Meetings will be held at an agreed meeting place or will rotate around participating schools.
Each PLG session will involve:
Exploration of leadership principles & practices & their application into daily work
Discussion of topical issues
Each AP/DP reflecting & reporting on progress with actions from each session
Reading/viewing relevant articles/clips
Cost $500 each- minimum of 6 required for PLG to proceed
AP/DP EXTERNAL APPRAISAL
edLead Consulting offers APs and DPs the opportunity for an external, independent appraisal. We will work with you and your Principal to negotiate a performance agreement that reflects your work and leadership within the school.
We will also facilitate a mid year and end of year review involving:
·Structured reflective dialogue
·Review of evidence supporting your work
·An online survey to gather 360 degree data from your peers and colleagues
·Analysis of survey results and assistance to reflect on findings
·Two written reports, which acknowledge the progress you have made, your achievements, possible next steps & evaluate your work in relation to the STP.
Cost for standard appraisal -$2250+ GST
AP/DP ONE-ON-ONE COACHING OR CRITICAL FRIEND
We provide individual coaching sessions to support and challenge AP’s or DP’s as they implement their leadership projects and responsibilities. Sessions include structured professional conversation, collaborative problem solving and formulation of next steps.
Number, duration and cost of sessions tailored to individual needs. Face to face and online options available.
